and a Fellow of the
Chartered
Institute of Secretaries and Administrators.2: I
haven't heard of them; who are they?
The AIA have been around for about 80 years. They are one of only
five UK accounting bodies,(the others being the Chartered bodies), who
under Companies Act 2006, can qualify members for statutory audit work.
This gives an idea of the level of the qualification. This what they say
about themselves
Recognised in over 30 countries and with members in 85
countries around the world, AIA represents professionals at the top of
their industry and has a history of promoting trust, clarity and
knowledge in accounting.
The ICSA has been around for about 120 years. This is what they say
about themselves.
The Institute of Chartered
Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) is the professional body for
Chartered Secretaries and a leading authority on corporate governance.
Chartered Secretaries are high-ranking professionals with a broad base
of skills unique among the professions. Trained in law, finance and
accounting, strategy, governance and ethics, Chartered Secretaries
provide a focal point for independent advice and guidance about the
conduct of business, governance and compliance.
3: How much are your fees?
Our fees are based upon the type of work you want us to do. So
bookkeeping is much cheaper than tax work for instance. If you have a
specific job in mind please
click here and we will provide you with a fixed
price quotation. This is not an estimate, so when we say this is what it
cost you, that is what it will cost you.
4: How do you charge?
We charge a fixed fee for a job. Should you wish to pay as you go,
then we charge an hourly rate, with a minimum of 30 minutes charged to
begin with and thereafter in 10 minute increments.
5: What do I get?
You get a service which is exactly laid out in our letter of
engagement to you.
6: You are my accountant - why can't you do everything I
want within
the fees you have charged.
Our fees cover agreed work. Anything extra is chargeable. It's a bit
like when you go to the supermarket. If you go in thinking you want
salad, but it turns out that you also want lard, you have to pay for
both. Even a BOGOF deal is not really free.
Here is a summary of things that are (and are
not) chargeable, or go
